This estate was acquired by the Sossauer family, of Bernese origin, four generations ago. It owes its wine-growing orientation to Christian Sossauer, who gradually transformed fields and pastures into vineyards. Today, on 10 hectares of clay-limestone hillsides, 14 grape varieties thrive, most of them specialities. Grown and harvested by hand, with a very limited yield, the vineyard produces very fruity white wines, and racy and complex red wines with beautiful tannins to keep. The wines are vinified at the estate with the assurance that the next generation, which already participates in their elaboration, will take up the torch in the same spirit of innovation. During a rich tasting of 18 crus, you will perhaps hear from which distant and eventful history the estate has inherited its strange name.
